This is a remote work opportunity. You must have a suitable offsite work location in Nova Scotia and be within commuting distance of any of NSCC's physical campuses. NSCC will supply you with all computing requirements (computer, monitors, etc.).

What you'll be doing...

Working in a team environment and reporting to the Academic Chair, Early Childhood Education Funded Programs, you will provide a full range of administrative support services to the Academic Chair, with an emphasis on providing superior customer service to all clients, students, staff and the public. As front-line support, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing basic administrative support such as booking meetings, assisting students with questions, assisting the Academic Chair with scheduling, calendar management, supporting faculty, maintaining an online filing system, and maintaining program files, as well as general office support as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration. High school completion with significant years of administrative experience (10+) will also be considered.

  • You have a minimum of three years of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Experience in the Education sector would be considered an asset.

  • Experience providing support in a busy digital environment, juggling multiple schedules, inboxes, and priorities is an asset.

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft OneNote, and Microsoft Planner.

  • Occupational experience that includes working in PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.

  • Experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery and evaluation would be considered an asset.

  • Experience supporting/providing services to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.
