What you'll be doing…

  • This position will provide all academic teams and Schools with information and programming data to support academic planning and decision making and provide information that supports program development and review/renewal. The incumbent will support all academic health program reviews; integrate various data sources to create program health dashboards for a variety of key internal stakeholders, leverage data through our Cognos and PeopleSoft systems and complete statistical and analytical research to support decision making and planning.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a bachelor's degree in business, education, social sciences, or another relevant discipline with an analytical focus or equivalent industry experience.
  • You have at least three (3) years (full-time equivalent) of direct experience in delivering meaningful, timely and accurate reporting using large data sets, and conducting analyses of data to aid in key decision-making processes, preferably within a post-secondary context.
  • You have experience with social / educational research methods and statistical analysis using a variety of research tools such as SPSS, Cognos, Excel.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft (Student Administration) and SPSS would be an asset
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and are a proficient user of Excel and Power BI
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to optimize process, work and outputs
  • You have experience in presenting complex data sets in user-friendly formats.

  • You are proficient in windows-based computer applications including all Microsoft Office applications and Outlook, and are proficient with Power BI and Excel
  • Knowledge of and experience with survey methodology would be an asset
  • Effective writing and presentation skills and the ability to convey technical and statistical information to a non-technical audience
  • Superb presentation, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex college environment with the ability to build and sustain working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in planning, executing and completing tasks
  • Ability to ensure accuracy of work, take initiative, exercise sound judgement, and work independently to meet deadlines
  • You are known for your problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • You are a strong communicator both written and oral
  • You have proven records and information management skills and abilities related to data management according to ethical and legislative guidelines
