What you will be doing…

Reporting to the Director of Enrolment and Registrar and working as a key partner in a joint leadership team in the Registrar's Office, the Associate Registrar - Admissions Operations (ARAO):

  • Provides leadership in service delivery including all incoming and outgoing communication strategies, measurement of outcomes, process enhancement, web presence, self-service functionality and development of new strategies to enhance customer service in support of NSCC's Strategic Plan.
  • Provides leadership, management, and supervision for Nova Scotia Community College's Admissions Office, including, but not limited to the following functions - database development and administration, enrolment reporting, advising, selecting, admitting, and communicating with both new-entrants and advanced-placement candidates.
  • Works closely with stakeholders throughout the College to ensure consistency in best-practice for admissions, advising, high school and/or community outreach, and prospective student liaison.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational requirements for this position is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Education, Business Administration, etc.
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience working in an information provision (client-facing) field, preferably in a post-secondary educational environment
  • At least three years of leadership experience at a supervisory/management level
  • Proficient in windows-based computer applications including all Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience working with PeopleSoft
  • Proven experience in the analysis and preparation of data and reporting
  • Strong demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement new programs
  • Proven experience in managing projects, including financial aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of client information management systems, along with familiarity with technology-based resources for student support
  • Working knowledge of Nova Scotia's and other school systems and post-secondary institutions as related to admissions, records and student services.
  • Successful experience in process design and in the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing policies, procedures and staff training.
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license
