The salary scale for Professional Support 4 is based on twelve steps that range from $70,472.03 - $96,589.53. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $84,602.83 annually.

Responsibilities

The Strategic International Enrolment Consultant is accountable for developing and executing strategic international student enrolment strategies for NSCC's multi-campus environment. This position will also work with key stakeholders, including Campuses, Schools, NSCC International, Marketing and Communications, Academic Equity and Quality, Human Rights Equity and Inclusion and Student Affairs to set international enrolment targets and to effectively communicate with an international audience. Under the direction of the Director, Enrolment and Registrar, this position will work collaboratively with leaders and staff in Enrolment and Registrar Services to ensure an effective, efficient and sustainable approach to managing the enrolment of international students.

The incumbent will work closely with external international bodies like Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), EduNova, Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) to ensure that NSCC upholds the highest standards in its international enrolment practices. Additionally, the position will develop (where appropriate) a network of international educational agents to support streams of viable international student applications to NSCC. This role has a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of international students as well as a balanced approach to supporting all stakeholders who are engaged in delivering a quality student experience for international students at NSCC.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary degree in a related discipline such as education, business administration, management etc. A graduate degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience in international student recruitment in a publicly funded post-secondary environment, international experience will be recognized. At least three of those years of experience must include developing and executing international student recruitment strategies.
  • You have demonstrated occupational experience in the following:
    • Managing relationships and contracts with international student recruitment agents.
    • Working collaboratively with high-capacity teams (Admissions and Recruitment).
    • Recruitment and enrolment strategy development from an equity, diversity and inclusion lens.
    • Working with and understanding international education policies, student visa regulations, and immigration procedures.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail and PeopleSoft.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
  • You have experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a two-year (part-time) adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
