What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • You will provide a full range of administrative support services with an emphasis on providing superior customer service. As front-line staff within the Business & Student Services, you are responsible for responding to walk-in requests, phone calls, and email inquiries related to programming/services at the College.
  • Reporting to the Manager, Administrative Services, other duties will include receipting of money, processing deposits, invoicing and assisting students regarding tuition payments, sponsorships, overdue accounts, refunds, scheduling appointments, enrolling students in Continuing Education courses and general office support as needed. Along with the other administrative assistants, you will maintain and support the daily administrative functions within Student Services.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Office Administration combined with a minimum of two years' recent and related experience in a fast-paced office environment. Or you have the recognized equivalency of a high school diploma with significant (10+) years of administrative experience.
  • Occupational experience that includes providing administrative support in a post-secondary environment in addition to taking payments using a debit/credit machine, closing and balancing cash, reception, etc would be considered assets.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, etc would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
  • Experience working with Accounts Receivables and student / customer account reconciliation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.

  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in ensuring correct posting of accounts, cash reconciliation, accurately responding to inquiries, meeting task deadlines, etc.)
  • You have demonstrated background work in environments where confidentiality and sensitivity to client needs has been a focus.
