What you will be doing…

  • Reporting to the Manager, IT Service Delivery and Operations, and with mentoring from senior IT Service Delivery & Operations team members, your primary responsibilities will be providing Tier 1 & 2 level IT support via phone, live chat, e-mail, and in-person with focus on our core mission of teaching and learning

  • NSCC is a modern, evolving organization that requires the Digital Innovation & Technology Department and its staff to be nimble and responsive to its changing needs. As a DI & Tech team member, your shift may include evening work and travel to campuses and learning centres across the province. Through our approved support channels, you could be called upon to provide remote technical support to all our campuses, learning centers, and community members across the province.
  • You will manage your day-to-day activities using the College's ITSM tool to ensure the accurate and timely management of requests and incidents. You will provide first-and second-level technical support and analyze potential solutions and risks on our campuses, community centres, and within the communities we serve and operate in.

  • You will provide primary technical support (including setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technology training) to our staff, students, partners, and guests in modern teaching spaces and meeting rooms.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Possessing one or more of the following certifications would be considered an asset: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and/or Network+, A+, or AppleCare Technician.

  • This is an entry-level position. We welcome applications from recent graduates. One year of occupational experience, which includes planning, testing, and troubleshooting stand-alone and networked (wired and wireless) computer systems or recognized equivalencies, would be considered an asset

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 administration tools, Windows, Mac, and PC platforms, basic networking and troubleshooting (Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, TCP/IP), and hardware repair and troubleshooting.

  • You have specific technical occupational experience, knowledge and skill in:

    • Planning, testing, and troubleshooting stand-alone and networked (wired and wireless) computer systems.

    • Managing Audio Visual systems such as data projectors, large format displays, interactive displays and audio\video conferencing equipment and platforms

    • Managing PC, Mac and Server hardware, operating systems, and applications

    • Liaising with vendor partners.

    • IT procurement

    • Client/Customer service

    • Technology training

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge and committing to using technology to advance your work.

  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be an asset.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
