The Opportunity
The Business Systems Analyst - IT Application Support is responsible for support and maintenance of our enterprise applications. The BSA must be able to understand and effectively communicate relevant details of complex technical and business logic processes to all levels of the organization. The role also works in projects with other members of the IT team and Business team members across the organization, to analyze, design, document, implement and test Enterprise application and data related software solutions to meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
- Directly and with other members of the Business Unit/organization, analyze, design, implement and test Enterprise application and data related software solutions to meet the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Identify, elicit, and document business & technical requirements, define business rules, and communicate requirements for the implementation of business & technical solutions.
- Research and recommend solutions related to business process, application and/or data related issues.
- Develop effective relationships with representatives of the organization's Business Units to ensure software solutions effectively meet business needs and strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate and negotiate to arrive at business process and/or business system solutions with internal customers and external business partners.
- Work effectively with third-party vendors of software and services to coordinate and manage implementation tasks.
- Develop and document application design and/or change specifications.
- Monitor and stay current in the evolving fields of database design, data modelling, retail industry software, industry best practices, & IT and business management best practices
- Provide second-level support for business systems troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Participate in an after-hours on call rotation.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Follow NSLC IT policies & protocols; recommend & execute improvements in these areas.
- Transfer knowledge to other BSA's in areas of technology and business process.
- Manage change to Business Units associated with software implementation; develop and deliver impact assessments, training materials, communications, and presentations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement related to business process and technology.
- Other related duties as assigned; occasional travel in & outside of the province as required.
- Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's social responsibility mandate.
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need
Qualifications
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
- 3 - 5 years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst
- A University degree or equivalent in IT or Business and/or relevant discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on experience in an integrated ERP environment, ideally in SAP.
- Experience providing second-level support for business systems troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Experience in requirements gathering, functional and technical specifications definition, testing and technical documentation.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a combination of supporting skillsets & knowledge with:
- ERP-level experience in any of the following in an applied business context: functional configuration, data analysis, system-to-system interface design, solution design and/ or solution implementation.
- Business process mapping.
- Working experience with an enterprise level e-commerce web platform (such as SAP Hybris/ Commerce Cloud, Adobe or Oracle) or other web-based CMS solutions (such as Sitecore or Sharepoint).
An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
