Salary range: $74,138.61 to $87,221.89 annually

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Internal Audit, you will:

  • Conduct independent and objective operational, compliance, financial and investigative audits to assess the effectiveness of risk management, controls and governance processes.
  • Perform campus audits and provide information about the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal controls at the various campuses throughout Nova Scotia, while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and College procedures/policies.
  • Perform operational audits and special projects.
  • Review the College's ability to safeguard assets and verify the existence of significant assets.
  • Complete audit working papers to document work performed including scope of audit, significant findings/issues and recommendations for improvements.

This position requires frequent travel within the Halifax Metro area and travel within Nova Scotia as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Commerce. A CPA accounting designation would be considered an asset.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in an auditing position.

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and email.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional employee experience.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge:
