What you will be doing…

Under the direction of Manager, Physical Plant and Energy, the Industrial Mechanical Technician is responsible to support the Facilities Managers at the Kingstec, Annapolis Valley, Lunenburg, Shelburne, Burridge Campuses along with the COGS and Digby sites by ensuring mechanical equipment including HVAC, boilers, cafeteria and specialized Academic equipment are maintained as per manufacturers recommendations. Other duties include scheduling and carrying out preventive maintenance, inventory control, equipment life cycle management, and setting up and maintaining equipment records through Megamation.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Interprovincial Journeyperson - Industrial Mechanic (Millright). Machining/Millright skills would be considered an asset.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of recent and related occupational experience (post-red seal certification) in facility, commercial or industrial setting.
  • Occupational experience and knowledge that includes service of HVAC, and cafeteria equipment would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, and Megamation.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.

  • Valid drivers license is required for travel between sites
