What you will be doing…

Under the general direction of Facilities Management, provides technical support as it relates to installation and operation of Building Automation and Control Systems for the department managers College-wide. Provide direction and oversite to consultants and service providers as it relates to new construction or upgrades of building systems and controls. Installation and programming of new Building Automation System components. Incumbent employs excellent communication skills to convey technical information to users and vendors on a regular basis. Incumbent is a key contributor with work results impacting the accuracy, reliability and acceptability of further results beyond the immediate work section. Performs service output on an independent basis subject to supervisory direction and review with a strong customer service focus.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Journeyperson certification in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing or Instrumentation.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience in a trade such as Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical or Instrumentation with demonstrated occupational experience in:
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS) installation, maintenance or operations.
    • Building Operations
    • Working with, and coordinating work with other trades or consultants.
  • Occupational experience that includes Building Automation System programming would be considered an asset
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, and Megamation.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
