Responsibilities

What you will be doing…

Reporting to the Director, Libraries and Learning Commons and under the functional guidance of the Copyright Officer, you will be the first point of contact for the College community in understanding and meeting copyright compliance and academic integrity requirements as per the Copyright Act of Canada, Fair Dealing Guidelines, NSCC Use of Copyright Materials Policy and the NSCC Academic Integrity Policy. You will triage all copyright inquiries and provide support for the College-wide activities and functions of the Copyright Office including responsibilities for copyright review and clearance processes; data input, tracking, and analysis; records management; procedures and documentation; citation and referencing support; responding to inquiries from faculty and staff; and liaising on workflows with Print Services and Bookstores. This role also provides assistance for activities related to open educational resources (OER) such as Pressbooks publishing tasks and Print on Demand processes.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

· The minimum educational qualification for this position is a college diploma in Library & Information Technology

· You have a minimum of 2 years of recent and related occupational experience that includes copyright, fair dealing, and academic integrity in an educational context. Experience with open educational resources (OER) is considered an asset.

· You have strong demonstrated computer literacy skills; which includes experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, AdobePro and Internet searching. Experience with Pressbooks is considered an asset.

· You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
