Salary range: $40,743.89 to $45,586.91 annually

What you will be doing…
Working in a team environment and reporting to the Program Director, Centre of Forest Innovation, you will provide confidential day-to-day administrative support to the Centre and other members of the Forest Innovation team. You will be responsible for ensuring the daily activities of the Program Director are organized efficiently, as well as providing administrative support for required activities.
Duties include file and records management, coordinating calendars, email and phone calls, travel bookings, and meeting logistics. You will assist in the preparation of all supporting materials for agendas, meetings, minutes, and presentations. You will respond to inquiries, initiate actions and respond independently when appropriate, and will demonstrate independence and initiative in anticipating needs, while juggling multiple and competing priorities.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Office Administration combined with a minimum of two years' recent and related experience in a fast-paced office environment. Or you have the recognized equivalency of a high school diploma with significant (10+) years of administrative experience
- You have experience providing support to all levels, in a fast-paced environment
- You possess excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook. Experience with PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
- You have proven experience with organizing and prioritizing a demanding workload while meeting deadlines
- You have demonstrated communication skills with the ability to translate information into clear and concise objectives that can be communicated to different audiences within all levels of an organization
- You have demonstrated experience with the coordination of projects, specifically with research, tracking and analysis
- Experience in project management would be considered an asset
- Experience in basic accounting would be considered an asset
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a two-year (part-time) adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
