What you will be doing…

We are looking for a senior leader of institutional innovation and strategic development to head our Digital Innovation & Technology portfolio at NSCC. Your lived experience across all aspects of the IT portfolio has given you unique insights into current and emerging trends which you couple with an ability to think and analyze strategically to turn those trends into opportunities. Your experience leading large, enterprise-wide teams has built exceptional people management skills with demonstrated ability to grow and mentor a high performing team. You are equal parts innovative and pragmatic and are absolutely committed to aligning technology in support of organizational goals. Through a team of 83 of the most dedicated professionals you will ever work with, you will steward the overall development, implementation, management and supervision of all aspects of Nova Scotia Community College's IT architecture development, enhancement and vendor management for all our 14 campuses. Moreover, as CIO, you will play a leading role in the success and fulfillment of every one of our more than 10,000 students in education, in career and in life.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

Our new CIO will have ten years of relevant experience in progressively senior leadership positions in IT, project and operations management. You have an undergraduate degree or college diploma with related certification and your experience includes program creation and managing end to end implementations of IT solutions for large, complex, multi-site organizations. Your experiences have provided you the vision to mitigate risks faced by an institution with respect to network and application security, information-privacy, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery and large-scale projects. You have the ability to inspire others through exemplary leadership practice and strong people management skills. If you have experience leading remote teams, it would be an asset where the CIO and their team could be located anywhere in Nova Scotia.
