What you will be doing…

As the Academic Chair for the Schools of Health & Human Services/ Access, Education & Language, you will lead the delivery of Health and AEL programs at Cumberland Campus ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency in programing while supporting student success. Your strategic and operational leadership is key to ensuring the objectives of programs offered by NSCC are met through efficient and effective management of all fiscal and human resources, while endorsing the application of adult education principles and portfolio learning, within a safe work environment, and portfolio learning in a learning-centered college.

You will be a key member of both Campus and School teams. Campuses and Schools share accountability for ensuring a quality-learning environment and a cohesive campus team. You will use your established relationships in health care, human services, and educational related sectors regionally and locally to inform programming and opportunities for students.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

• The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree. A Graduate Degree would be considered an asset.
• You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and progressive occupational experience in a field related to the School. You have a minimum of five years in a formal supervisory, management or leadership role. Experience in your field includes formal teaching at a post-secondary level.
• Occupational experience that includes health care and human services field would be considered an asset
• You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-maillBrightspace, Microsoft Teams & Peoplesoft
• You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
• You have experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery and evaluation
