Responsibilities

Working in a team environment and reporting to the Manager, Student Services, you will provide a full range of administrative duties in the Student Services department, with an emphasis on providing superior data management skills using NSCC's PeopleSoft Student Administration System. You will support the Assistant Registrar by: enrolling students in programs; processing dropped courses; inputting grades, transfer credits, and milestones while ensuring accurate and timely data entry. You will run reports and queries and prepare spreadsheets for review.

You will provide timely customer service to all clients, including but not limited to students, staff and the public including generating a variety of documents. You will provide support to special events such as convocation. As front-line staff for Student Services, you are responsible for responding to walk-in requests, phone calls, and email inquiries related to programming and services at the College.

Other duties will include but are not limited to providing basic administrative support for the Manager, Student Services such as minute taking, filing, booking rooms, meetings and general office support as needed. Along with the other administrative assistants, you will maintain and support the daily administrative functions within Student Services.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Office Administration, combined with two (2) years of recent and related experience in a fast-paced office environment. Or you have the recognized equivalency of a high school diploma with significant (10+ years) administrative experience.
  • Occupational experience that includes administrative support in a post-secondary environment, would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and Email. Experience working with a student administration systems, such as PeopleSoft, would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students, would be considered an asset.
