What you'll do

Responsibilities

As an Admissions Services Specialist, you are a specialist in client satisfaction, knowledge management and facilitation for prospects, applicants, and students, and internal and external partners of NSCC.

Enthusiastic and passionate about the NSCC experience, you will employ a high level of communication, positivity, ownership, organization and knowledge. You will demonstrate a strong desire to contribute to student success and the success of the College as a key force in the economy and quality of life in Nova Scotia.

You will be responsible for both inbound and outbound verbal and written communication that fosters a quality experience for our clientele. As a first responder, you will represent NSCC in building strong relationships. You will develop and convey a deep, rich knowledge base on NSCC programs, practices, services and policies, and will be considered a subject matter expert for people wanting information about the NSCC experience. You will embrace and capitalize on new processes, technologies and systems designed to improve the client experience and contribute to a culture of service excellence, and you will play an integral role in fostering and influencing existing, and, developing new service initiatives.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in areas such as Office Administration, Business, Communications or related discipline.
  • You have a minimum of two years of recent and related occupational experience providing exceptional service in a client focused environment.
  • Occupational experience in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and MS Excel. Experience with PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
  • You have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.

Although these two sections say they are optional; they are not optional and are required for a complete NSCC application.
  3. Questions. Next to the Application tab, you will see a Questions tab. We will need you to complete these questions in order to submit your application.
