What you'll do

Responsibilities

You will provide customer service to our campus community in our cafeteria and café. You will act as a cashier and Barista, and you will be responsible for the cleaning of all cafe tables and equipment including all dishes, cooking equipment and the tray line, the student lounge & the garbage storage area of the kitchen, in accordance with legislated standards for hygiene. You will also be responsible for the removal of all waste into the proper streams, sweeping and mopping the floors, delivering, setting up and picking up caterings, operating the dish washing machine, displaying food, counting cash and other duties relevant to the sanitary operation of a high-volume food service.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

* The minimum educational qualification for this position is a high school diploma or recognized equivalent (GED) or a willingness to attain a high school diploma or GED during the probationary period. In addition, you have completed WHMIS training or have a willingness to complete.

* This is an entry-level position. We welcome applications from recent graduates.

* The incumbent will possess the following:

o Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills

o Detail oriented

o Basic math skills

o Accurate in cash handling

o Judgement and decision making in escalating inquiries

o Bondable

* With specific experience in café service and making specialty coffees

* Previous occupational experience in food services would be considered an asset.

* You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, cash registers and Point of Sale systems

* You have demonstrated experience providing maintenance duties in a high-volume food service environment
