Reporting to the Manager, Finance – Sales and Receivables, the Senior Receivables Technician is the subject matter expert for Accounts Receivable, Gaming Liabilities, and Inventory. The incumbent will possess a thorough understanding of all transactions, associated business processes, applicable legislative and regulatory considerations, appropriate accounting treatments, and end-to-end flow of journal entries throughout the entire process cycle. The Senior Receivables Technician is also responsible for credit & collection duties and iLottery transaction processing and for providing timely business and customer support in all areas of accountability. 

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting - Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis to ensure financial transactions are complete, reliable, and compliant with IFRS standards and other applicable legislation; maintain a solid understanding of CoA and tax rules.
  • Reporting and Analysis - Prepare internal and external reports and requests for information, as required.
  • Accounts Receivable - Maintain completeness and accuracy of Accounts Receivable including billing requirements and reconciliations for Retailers, Players, and other customers; maintain knowledge and understanding of related contracts.
  • Gaming Liabilities - Maintain completeness and accuracy of Gaming Liabilities including Deferred Revenue, Lottery Payables, Unclaimed Prize Liabilities, and amounts due to Shareholders.
  • Inventory – Maintain completeness and accuracy of Inventory.
  • Credit & Collections - Perform all credit and collection duties.
  • iLottery - Maintain completeness and accuracy of iLottery transaction processing; maintain a solid understanding of system integrations.
  • Process Documentation - Regularly review and update all assigned standards, processes and procedural documentation to ensure they are accurate and complete.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • You have a college diploma in Accounting, or equivalent, or
  • You have a minimum of three years’ experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Experience with Oracle eBS considered an asset
  • You demonstrate a high level of accuracy/attention to detail
  • You are customer service focused
  • You demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
