We are seeking an experienced software business professional to lead our Corporate Development initiatives. We have ambitious plans for growth and need a mix of strategic investments and strategic partnerships to both expand our revenue base and allow us to access new market opportunities.

Who You Are

You are expected to lead discussions with top executives both inside and outside of the company and facilitate discussions, the outcomes of which, have a high degree of strategic and financial impact.

Critical requirements are:

(i) previous successful track record of participating in strategic partnering, from analyzing strategy, to executing transactions, through to integration,
(ii) domain knowledge and industry expertise in the software, sector, with knowledge of a series of vertical industries (Forestry, Utilities or other asset intense sectors),
(iii) strong communication and analytical skills,
(iv) proven leadership capabilities and ability to operate successfully in an unstructured, team oriented environment, and
(v) project management skills for executing the plan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking for a 9 to 18 month engagement with potential to evolve into a larger role over time. For the right candidate we can be flexible on timing, approach and working arrangements.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Development Leader will identify specific initiatives that match a set of strategic themes approved by the Board of Directors.

The role encompasses the following specific activities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the organization's growth strategy.
  • Identify leverage points with key strategic vendors to collaborate with or innovate on their platforms to create new opportunities with our current or prospective customers
  • Secure partnerships with service providers or innovative product companies to enhance the total solution provided to our current or prospective customers
  • Build a business case for build, buy or partner scenarios for presentation to the corporate board for review
  • Facilitate both market entry and activities leading to market traction to insure these initiatives achieve a return-on-investment
  • Analyse the outcomes of these initiatives

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the high-tech industry, preferably with knowledge of both the enterprise product sales model and the professional services delivery model
  • Experience with growth strategy projects and with strategic partnerships
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to present information effectively
  • Ability to think strategically and align opportunities with the Remsoft business
  • Technical background/familiarity and experience with data analytics, advanced analytics and geographic information systems (GIS)
