COLLEGE OF EXTENDED LEARNING: UNB CONSERVATORY
The UNB Conservatory offers private and group music instruction to the UNB campus and the greater Fredericton community. Private music lessons are available for strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, guitar and voice through a roster of contracted ensembles, the UNB chorale and Concert Band and summer music camps. The Coordinator also provides management and financial oversight for other programs and courses that are mounted from time to time such as the Certificate in Contemporary Cultural Management.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
Occasional evening and weekend work is required to accommodate special events and performances.
Salary Range: $44,904 - $56,128 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director of Music, the Conservatory Coordinator ensures the program planning and overall program structure is both instructionally sound and financially viable. This position oversees the development of the UNB Conservatory including administrative functions, developing key relationships, finances, and enrollment.
- Act as the first point of contact with learners, instructors, parents, and community members.
- Oversee and maintain administrative processes and procedures that follow CEL/UNB guidelines.
- Maintain instructor records and manage financial paperwork for payment purposes
- Track and adhere to the budget of the Conservatory.
- Assist the Music Director to develop new Conservatory offerings.
- Propose an annual calendar of activities, present plan results, and execute elements chosen by the Director.
- Collaborate with other UNB units to market fall, winter & summer term Conservatory of Music offerings.
- Engage in online, social media marketing and print advertising, and in-person follow-up with music instructors.
- Organize musical events including fall and winter solo end ensemble Conservatory concerts, summer camp final concerts.
- Report the status of Conservatory affairs at regular intervals to the Music Director and seek feedback and direction.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's Degree in Music, Arts or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a related field.
Additional Strengths
- A background in musical performance and/or instruction is considered an asset.
- Marketing experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with database management is an asset.
- Knowledge of musical terminology is considered an asset.
- Ability to use Mac and IOS devices.
- Ability to work independently, with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
