WHAT WE OFFER

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm |36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $19.66 - $23.60 per hour (as of July 1, 2024)
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager, Saint John Residence, the Residence Receptionist is responsible for all front desk services for Residence in Saint John. This position assists Residence Staff with administrative projects or tasks while also frequently interacting with students and guests.
- Greet, respond to and provide service to students, conference guests, the general public and other UNB community requests and inquiries.
- Serve as initial point of contact for internal and external clients, receive reservations for summer hotel guests and relay residence related information to domestic and international students.
- Assist with ensuring strict access control to all parts of residence.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory of hard keys and key cards for residence rooms, while monitoring card activity, activate and deactivate access when necessary.
- Ensure all guests in residence have the correct access to their rooms and buildings.
- Assist in development of a preventative access control plan.
- Report any safety, security or access control concerns.
- Provide administrative support to Residence staff.
- Maintain a professional, clean and tidy front of office.
- Assist with Residence check in/move-in days each term.
- Process mail; sort and distribute both office, staff and residence mail received.
- Act as back up for all residence facilities work orders, key issues, room assignment/room move issues, etc.
- Assist with room inspections, damages or room check in.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring student staff for summer operations.
- Train, mentor and supervise student staff including determining shifts/schedules, workflow, etc.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 2 year post secondary diploma.
- 3-5 years experience in a related customer service or administrative position.

- High comfort level working in Microsoft 365.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
