Salary Range: $44,904 - $56,128 per annum as of July 1, 2024

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager of Sustainability, the Climate Action Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of bi-campus climate work that helps meet the sustainability and carbon neutrality goals outlined in UNB's Strategic Plan (UNB Toward 2030), Campus Sustainability Plan, and Climate Change Action Plan. The Climate Action Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and improving approaches related to mitigating and adapting to climate change at UNB.

  • Collect, compile, and analyze data from various units and departments across both campuses to use for internal and external sustainability and climate change tracking and reporting (such as the Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment and Rating System - STARS, and annual sustainability reports for UNB)
  • Organize, coordinate and report on climate action events and initiatives for the UNB community
  • Research a variety of sustainability and climate change issues to assist with writing policies and annual sustainability reports, as well as to assist with creating a new climate action and sustainability plan for UNB
  • Maintain sustainability and climate change data on internal and external sites (such as the CP&O Tableau dashboards, the Campus Sustainability Maps, and other UNB Sustainability webpages with data)
  • Connect and engage with other groups on campus and in the province to push climate change mitigation and adaptation forward at UNB

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary diploma in a sustainability or climate change related field.
  • 1 year of experience with collecting and compiling data from multiple sources and timelines.
  • 2 years of experience with working with large datasets and spreadsheets, with the ability to effectively organize and analyze information.
  • 1 year of experience with organizing, coordinating and reporting on events and initiatives.
  • 1 year of experience with sustainability and climate change research.

Additional Strengths

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel, and basic experience in other Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with writing formal reports and plans is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail to manage a diversified workload.
