Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Vice President Enrolment and University Registrar (AVPER), the Deputy Registrar:
- Oversees the team responsible for the management and quality of student records, student systems, scheduling, timetable, exams, graduation, and convocation for all students enrolled at the University, from entry to graduation.
- Supports student records, academic regulations, faculty load allocations, reporting and training needs of various offices.
- Creates and maintains documentation for Banner student systems, CRM Recruit, DegreeWorks, Brightspace, and other platform/systems.
- Provides daily support to the Enrolment Services unit and AVPER as well as assisting the Faculties and their programs.
- Directly responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the Student Systems, Scheduling, Timetable, Exams, Student Records, Graduation, and Convocation functionality at Saint Mary's and liaises with the Atlantic School of Theology Registrar to support their student record needs.
- Promote a service-oriented culture, provides leadership and manages the business, administrative, financial and technical aspects of the student systems and provides expertise in examining and solving current student system issues.
- The incumbent plays a key role in the re-engineering of current business processes, participates in the evaluation of programs and services by developing and implementing performance benchmarks, and is responsible for managing the unit's budgets, including resource requirements, allocation, and deployment.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Deputy Registrar you will have:
- Graduate degree
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience including: leading, supervising and coaching staff in a unionized environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting.
- Excellent leadership skills: ability to lead a team and foster a respectful workplace.
- Significant knowledge of information technology for progressive technical approaches for improved service and efficiencies.
- Experience in educational information systems management. Banner, CRM Recruit, Brightspace or similar system experience an asset.
