Vice-Provost Academic Administration
The Vice-Provost Academic Administration office oversees UNB's academic planning and support, program quality assurance and accreditation, instructor contracts, and faculty labour relations.

Salary Range: $48,244 - $60,302 per annum

YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Vice-Provost Academic Administration, this position is responsible for providing assistance to the HR Counsel- Labour Relations Specialists. This position will conduct labour relations research, coordinate negotiations, annual training sessions, participate in labour negotiations, register for workers compensation for out of province workers, and preparing contract letters for academic positions.
- Conduct in-depth research for bargaining purposes on various topics; reviewing comparable collective agreements from other institutions and preparing documentation used to inform proposals and positions in negotiations.
- Update financial spreadsheets with settlement and CPI data to be presented at PET and within negotiations.
- Assist in the preparation for and attendance at negotiation sessions.
- Ensure all information and documentation is current and available in a timely manner for the bargaining teams.
- Maintain calendar and resolve conflicts in schedule for Counsel.
- Work closely with Senior leadership and other stakeholders across campus to provide updates on labour relations matters.
- Maintain files ensuring deadlines are not missed, collect and organize files for litigations, arbitrations.
- Interpret and prepare faculty employment contracts through recommendations received from the Provost and Vice-President Academic.
- Arrange assessment committee workshops for faculty committee members.
- Coordinate and arrange various Joint Committee meetings; prepare and distribute minutes.
- Other duties as assigned by the Labour Relations team.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post secondary diploma in legal administration. A bachelor's degree in a related field would be preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in administrative work as well as a high degree of knowledge surrounding research and database management.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths:
- Familiarity with policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to comprehend, analyze and complete multiple projects.
- Experience conducting comparative research is considered an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
