OFFICE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT RESEARCH

The Vice-President (Research), as a corporate, university wide unit, has the overall responsibility for leading and shaping UNB's strategic research direction and agenda. The Office of Research Services (ORS) and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), both under the VPR portfolio, provide administrative leadership and support to develop and advance the research agenda. The Office of Vice-President (Research) (OVPR) is responsible for supporting and assisting the VPR in their mandate.

Salary Range: $54,358 - $70,665 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager, OVPR, this position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and realizing the strategic projects that contribute to the long-term vision and success of the research enterprise at UNB.

  • Manage strategic projects under the leadership of the VPR and oversight of the Manager, OVPR.
  • Responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of projects, including monitoring and reporting of project related activities.
  • Develop key communications, reports, presentations, and other project documents as required.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with projects that might jeopardize the success of the methods and/or the outcomes.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process to help identify key projects that support the research enterprise at UNB.
  • Develop project plans that reflect the strategic objectives of the VPR.
  • Support the monitoring, tracking, and reporting on strategic initiatives.
  • Lead in the research, development, and implementation of research policy.
  • Lead in the monitoring of research policy.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Postsecondary education.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.

Additional Strengths:

  • Experience with complex project management.
  • Experience in research administration or related experience in a post-secondary environment would be an asset.
  • Strong mediation and facilitation skills.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver.
  • Tact, sensitivity and diplomacy, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheet management and database management.
