OFFICE Of THE PROVOST & VICE-PRESIDENT ACADEMIC
The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic is responsible for all academic matters at the University of New Brunswick's two main campuses in Fredericton and Saint John and the Moncton site and drives the academic mission of the University toward the strategic goals of the Toward 2030 Strategic Plan. The Provost and Vice-President Academic oversees and leads the university-wide activities of the three Vice-Provost Offices and Deans.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Continuing | Saint John or Fredericton | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • This position can be located on either the Fredericton or Saint John Campus.
  • Occasional travel required between the Fredericton and Saint John Campus.
  • Hours are not limited to the standard working hours of the university.

Salary Range: $63, 327 - $86, 308 per annum (as of July 1st, 2024)

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Senior Executive Officer and Advisor to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Project Manager will Manage large scale projects as well as maintain project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. This position will provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including assigning tasks, managing team dynamics, and fostering collaboration and motivation.

  • Assist and collaborate with Vice-Provosts on large scale projects and/or projects that bridge more than one portfolio.
  • Identify and communicate with project stakeholders and manage their expectations throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Identify potential risks to project success, develop risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, and project plans.
  • Responsible for carrying out the research, best practice review, and data collection for projects under the Office of the Provost. Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for project stakeholders.
  • Lead working groups, both within the Office of the Provost and across the institution, tasked with researching recent developments and designing and implementing innovative new best practices to address such developments.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Process and track expenses, reimbursements, invoices, and payments related to projects and events.
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of events for the Office of the Provost, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, audiovisual requirements, and logistics.
  • Participates in the coordination of events related to the Vice-Provost's portfolios.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to promote events, including creating promotional materials, managing social media campaigns, and collaborating with SCM.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree supplemented with project management and/or public relations courses and experience.
  • 5 years experience in a professional office setting managing projects.
  • Experience with effective communication when dealing with clients, donors, and/or executives is required.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality.
