Salary: $26.75 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager of Administration & Finance, the incumbent is responsible for the supervision of staff and all aspects of materials management in a large stores section. Responsible for materials management which includes needs assessment, source investigation, development of specifications, invitation to bid/tender, evaluation/award, purchase order, goods receipt/inspection, site delivery, inspection acceptance, invoicing vouchering, disbursement and reconciliation.
- Ensure the right material is available as required.
- Research new products and suppliers based on price and performance/service.
- Contact suppliers by phone or email to get best pricing on new stock items or update current stock pricing.
- Tender and quote for all related stores stock.
- Ensure deliveries from suppliers and goods are in acceptable condition and that the quantity and quality received is in accordance with the purchase order.
- Maintain an adequate supply of stationary and first aid supplies kept in stock.
- Oversee storage of all inventories.
- Make items readily available to issue and ensure the efficient use of available space.
- Create and approve purchase requisitions. Solve all purchase order or invoicing problems related to stores.
- Maintain a perpetual inventory system and re-order items as necessary to maintain stock levels.
- Work with Forepersons and Managers regarding stock replenishment.
- Ensure cleaning supply orders for all UNB and STU buildings are packed and shipped out weekly as required.
- Confirm the Chemical Storage Room (CSR) is maintained to UNB standards and that all contents are stored in compliance with UNB and provincial requirements.
- Work with Campus Safety to ensure monthly CSR audits and scheduled hazardous waste disposals are done effectively; maintain all records on in-coming and out-going chemicals.
- Ensure compliance with several UNB regulations and provincial legislation.
- Maintain WHMIS safety data sheets up to date and available to staff.
- Post all stock received and issued in stores on computerized inventory system daily.
- Ensure all tools and keys are issued according to departmental guidelines and that all associated record keeping is done. Ensure all tools issued by Stores are maintained in good working order.
- Perform other related duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 to 10 years' experience as a stores clerk or Storekeeper in a computerized purchasing environment with considerable specialization in aspects of inventory management.
- Fundamental computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.
- 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
Additional Strengths
- Courses in materials management.
- Completion of purchasing management course is a definite asset.
- Work experience with hazardous material and associated government regulations is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a trade's environment with building products, tools and technologies is an asset.
