STUDENT AFFAIRS & SERVICES

The primary purpose of Student Affairs & Services (SAS) is to support students in achieving their academic, personal, and life goals. In keeping with this, SAS develops and delivers a wide range of programs and services that enhance and contribute to the student experience and the learning environment. Individually and collectively, SAS Divisions contribute directly to the University's goal of transformative educational experiences, innovative programs, and commitment to experiential learning.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Term Ending February 7, 2025 (Leave Replacement) | Saint John | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Some overtime may be required during peak exam periods.

Salary Range: $38,925 - $48,655 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Student Accessibility Counsellor, the Student Accessibility Support Assistant provides support services and programs to students as related to testing. This position oversees the workflow and production of materials for accommodations specifically related to testing and examinations.

  • Coordinate testing and invigilation services for students.
  • Promote a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for testing and interact and communicate effectively with students with a variety of disabilities.
  • Communicate with instructors, invigilators and students regarding tests and examination arrangements.
  • Schedule, receive, and prepare testing materials to be written at the Student Accessibility Centre.
  • Manage and maintain a database scheduling system for student tests and exams.
  • Train invigilators according to Centre policies and procedures and schedule invigilating shifts.
  • Ensure that all testing procedures are followed within the Centre.
  • Recommend process protocols and identify best practices in the testing aspect of the Centre to the Student Accessibility Counsellor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • College diploma in administration, management, human services, or other related fields.

Additional Strengths

  • University degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with post-secondary students with disabilities an asset.
  • High proficiency in in Microsoft Office and database usage.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and attention to details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
