Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager, Access Services, the Library Clerk IV will:
- Provide service to library patrons at the Circulation Services Desk.
- Co-ordinate, train, direct and assign the work of evening part-time student assistants. Monitor progress and performance.
- Schedule desk shifts and replacement staff as required.
- Handle and rectify patron complaints, system malfunctions, and employee performance/behavior irregularities as evening supervisor.
- Close the library.
- Interact with the Cataloguing and Metadata Systems staff to resolve problems relating to bibliographic records in the database, create New Book displays.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hours of Work
- Fall and Winter Sessions: Sun-Thu, 3:30pm-11:30pm
- Spring and Summer sessions: Mon-Fri, 1:30pm-9:30pm
- Intersessions: Mon-Fri, 9:30am-5:30pm
- Overtime, evenings/weekends/holidays possible.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Library Clerk IV you will have:
- Library and Information Technician (LIT) Diploma and minimum one-year related experience or; High School graduation and minimum two (2) year's related Library experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of MS Office, internet browsers and e-mail application.
- Good working knowledge of an academic library and its resources.
- Experience with an integrated library system an asset.
