The Department of Athletics and Recreation at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Administrative and Promotions Assistant.
Classification: Permanent Sessional NSGEU Level 5 Position
Regular Sessional Term: August to May, 4 days per week
2023 Sessional Term: July to May, 5 days per week.
Starting Salary: $36,100 per annum (pro-rated to reflect the sessional term)
Starting Date: July 2023

What you'll do
Responsibilities
The Administrative and Promotions Assistant will collaborate closely with, and supports the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the Promotions and Member Services Manager, and the Recreation Coordinator. This position will collaborate closely with and provides vital support to all aspects of the administrative functions within the Athletics & Recreation department, as well as relief to the Member Services Assistant during peak periods.
The Administrative and Promotions Assistant is the first point of contact within the Athletics and Recreation Office. They provide assistance and sports information and clerical support for the department, they will assist with the development, creation and maintenance of departmental promotions, social media campaigns and day to day activities, they will also provide backup support for the Fitness Centre front desk and provide support for various special events.
What you'll need
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have completed at minimum, a 2-year diploma in a related area such as Public Relations, Sport Management, Communications or Business Administration with one year of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates must be computer literate and possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience working with and creating social media campaigns/promotions is preferred. Experience and knowledge of the fitness industry is an asset. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is a must. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and have an aptitude for, or previous experience using Facility software systems such as CLASS or PerfectMind.
