Halifax Water is Atlantic Canada's largest water utility, providing integrated water, wastewater and stormwater utility for more than 106,000 customers daily. For more than 70 years we have been proud stewards of the water cycle, providing clean water to customers, and safely conveying it back to the source. We are currently hiring for an Engineering Technologist II - Environmental. This term opportunity, in the Pollution Prevention (P2) team of the Regulatory Compliance Services Department, has full time hours and is for a period of approximately 13 months.
As an Engineering Technologist II - Environmental, you will:
- perform technical duties related to water, wastewater, and stormwater services
- carry out technical functions related to administering customer education programs
- undertake environmental investigations, analysis and reporting
- ensure customer compliance with Halifax Water's Regulations
To do this job, you need to have:
- a technical diploma in engineering sciences (or a related field with an emphasis on environmental sciences, underground infrastructure management and municipal servicing)
- five years' experience in municipal/ environmental engineering
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation with TechNova or eligible for membership
- a valid driver's license
- the successful incumbent will be required to be appointed as a Special Constable pursuant to the Nova Scotia Police Act.
