Student Accessibility Centre

The UNBF Student Accessibility Centre (SAC) exists to provide services and resources to support the success of students with disability-related needs during their time of study at UNB. SAC in partnership with the faculty, staff, and students of UNB strives to provide support, ensure equal opportunity, and create an accessible, inclusive community for UNB students. As of 2022, there are approximately 700 students with documented disabilities are registered with the Centre and that number continues to climb annually.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Continuing | Fredericton | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:45 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • May be required to work outside of standard working hours (including evenings and/or weekends) during mid-term and final exam periods.

Salary Range: $21.91 - $25.44 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of the Student Accessibility Centre, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall activities of the Student Accessibility Centre with particular attention to the coordination of accommodated tests and exams, database management, assessment of SAC activities, financial management of accounts, coordination of Centre communications, and other general operations duties.

  • Coordinate with faculty and students on test arrangements.
  • Schedule and book test/exam space and invigilators.
  • Coordinate the secure receipt of tests/exams from instructors and subsequent return of completed tests/exams.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise invigilators.
  • Maintain the academic integrity of accommodated tests and exams and manage incidents when cheating is suspected.
  • Set up and manage database systems.
  • Develop and update database protocols; enter data and monitor database contents.
  • Design and prepare reports using database contents.
  • Respond to student, faculty, staff, and stakeholder inquiries (via email, web, phone, mail, etc.).
  • Identify and develop operational improvements to SAC practices and procedures.
  • Track expenses, coordinate purchases, and support the annual budgetary process.
  • Maintain Centre web and social media presence.
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate SAC calendar of events.
  • Perform general clerical duties as required and other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working in a related field.

Additional Strengths

  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting persons with disabilities and experience working with persons with disabilities is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in a post-secondary setting is considered a strong asset.
  • High-quality written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines under pressure along with attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to appreciate and recognize the value of different opinions, roles, experiences, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Proficiency with Databases and Microsoft Office 365 software.
  • Basic accounting and budgeting skills.
