Event based position, interacting with guests, fans, and industry partners. The Racing Guest Experience Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in Race Day pre-shifts to front-line staff, greeting and directing guests in our main entrance, setting up online betting station to assist guests with our online HPI platforms, sign-ups, promotions, and new Player Portal. The Racing Guest Experience Coordinator will also be responsible for visiting customers in our restaurants, grandstand, or tarmac to help executive how to play tactics, on track prize draws or promotional prize giveaways. This role has potential to include on air presentations around prize draw announcements.

The successful candidate will be an amiable individual who has a passion for harness racing, possesses strong organizational and time management skills, can adapt quickly to changing priorities and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be comfortable around large animals as well as outdoor and barn environments.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

• Harness Racing
o strong understanding of harness racing, industry partners and stakeholders
o ability to read and understand a race program.
o knowledgeable with Player Portal
o knowledgeable with on track and mobile wagering
o knowledge and ability to educating guests on self-serve terminals as well as mobile options (HPI account set up and use)
o Ability to manage mobile interaction (texting)of "Track Buddy or Race Experience Specialist" mobile contact phone.
o Simulcast printer and TV set up.
• Main Lobby Information Center
o Extroverted, approachable, personable, pleasant, and welcoming demeanor.
o strong communication, primary contact for incoming guest inquires.
o Problem solving skills with discretion to escalating inquiries/requests to Assistant Manager and Manager for follow-up.
o "Track Buddy" contact phone, inquiries (texting, photos, social media) and guest tours (barns, announcers booth, winners circle, etc.)
o Promotion education, execution, tracking and prizing.
o Ability to educate guests on how to read a program, how to read the Tote board, basic bets and how to navigate player portal and redshores.ca.
• Collaboration
o with Racing Lead to assist with administrative duties
o with Racing Lead for Simulcast coverage on non-race days
o work closely with internal departments to ensure successful delivery of Race Day events.
o work closely with external groups to support/execute promotional initiatives such as Harness the Hope, National Caretaker Appreciation Day, Customer Appreciation Day, etc.
o ability and willingness to travel between both Summerside and Charlottetown locations for events.

o working knowledge of Microsoft Office

o familiar with social media platforms and player portal
• Organization/Time Management
• Ability to assess and prioritized tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting delivery deadlines.

Qualifications

• Customer Service Ambassador.
• Harness Racing knowledge, experience, and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable with large animals and in a barn setting.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Efficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
• Comfortable interacting via Social Media platforms
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
• Critical thinking and problem solving.
• Bilingualism considered an asset.
