Shaw Brick, a division of The Shaw Group Limited is looking for a Temporary Labourer. The original clay brick began manufacturing in Lantz, Nova Scotia 160 years ago were the building blocks of a company that would go on to become a local household name and change the landscape of Atlantic Canada.

Today, Shaw Brick continues to manufacture brick, and over the years has added new products to enhance the beauty of homes, yards, and entire communities with high quality, sustainable, locally made, and affordable products.

The successful candidate will serve as a Labourer working in a team environment carry out additional tasks as assigned.

The successful candidate may be responsible for:
• Manual labour
• Sorting Brick while working safe and focusing on quality
• Clean and tidy daily
• Carry out daily housekeeping and safety reporting.
• Willing to be trained on a lift truck.
• Follow all safety protocols and must be able to work safely in a physically demanding environment.
• Work overtime as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
• Completion of grade 12 education or equivalent
• Aptitude for balancing safety as the priority with the demands of production
• Ability to lift, 50+ lbs. regularly and safely.
• Able to stand for long periods of time and complete repetitive work (repetitive overhead reaching/ movements)
• Positive attitude and motivated to contribute to high production effort.
• Mechanically inclined with an aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting would be considered an asset.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Willingness to work overtime as required during peak season.
• Hardworking, high integrity takes ownership.

Please note: This is a full-time seasonal position, typically May to December. Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week with opportunity for overtime.
