The Chapman Group is happy to support one of our amazing clients the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club to find their next Club Manager to join their team. The Club Manager plays a vital role in day-to-day activities at the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club. The primary responsibility of Club Manager is to maintain on-going communication with Committee members, employees, Club members and customers. The Club Manager will lead the operation of the club, business processes, services and the implementation of budget, policies, and capital projects. This position reports to the Commodore and Executive Committee.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

· Manage the day-to-day activities at the Marina and be the daily face of the club

· Actively walk the boat dock to address membership questions, concerns, and/or maintenance issues

· Maintain positive and productive communication with membership, executive committee, sub-committees, guests and employees via phone, email and in-person visits

· Act as a liaison between the executive committee members, staff, and members

· Organize and support business processes and services such as, berth and mooring assignments, clubhouse rentals and Club events, etc.

· Coach and mentor sub-committee chairs on effective committee management and budget

· Promote organizational effectiveness and oversee the implementation of each sub-committee budget and policy

· Analyze financial statements (income and expenses) relative to budgeted goals and take corrective measures as necessary

· Initiate, prepare and manage the auditing process, member and non-member billing and purchase orders

· Ensure the club is operating in compliance with established laws and regulations (weights, measures, licenses, etc.)

· Hire, train, and manage specific Club employees in collaboration with subcommittee chairs

· Complete employee (staff & contractor) performance reviews of general Club employees

· Maintain the Club website, updating information as necessary

· Market the RKYC as the preferred location for yacht club membership, learning to sail, and rental location (weddings, special events)

· Create social media content, membership information booklets, brochures, documents, and forms

· Address customer questions, concerns by providing appropriate solutions and alternatives

· Coordinate and participate in executive and sub-committee meetings

Working Environment

· Primarily in-office with some outside duties as required

· Extended periods of sitting

· Work extended hours during the busy season

What you'll need

Qualifications

Education:

· Post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant field such as business or management, or equivalent experience

· CCM/CCE designation from the Canadian Society of Club Managers is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Proven practical experience in business operations, budget preparation, management, and accountability

· Ability to multi-task and manage complex tasks, projects, situations

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and using technology as a communication tool

· Highly driven and self-motivated for success
