Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC)

Reporting to the Executive Director of Provincial Operations, the Senior Manager Operations acts in conjunction with the EMC Senior Leadership to lead Ambulance Operations in the Province. In this position, you communicate company philosophy, policy and solicit feedback and suggestions from all levels so that there is shared realization of the organizations goals.

As you lead the Ambulance Operations in your portfolio, you will have a solid understanding of the healthcare industry and various business functions such as EMS operations, fleet, facility management, human resources, finance, information technology, inventory control, and system status planning; and you demonstrate superior conflict resolution skills with a significant balance of assertiveness and sensitivity.

In a capacity covering a broad range of duties, your mission will be to keep the overall operational status of EMC in Nova Scotia fully functional while meeting or exceeding staff/customer/patient expectations.

Education & Experience

• You have demonstrated excellent skills in leadership, planning, organizing, directing, empowering, and motivating staff.
• You have a minimum ten (10) years' experience working in the Healthcare industry; and 7+ years' experience in a progressively responsible leadership or senior level Operating position.
• You have solid leadership experience and formal business training that includes effective written, oral, and presentation skills and an overall aptitude for negotiation and dispute resolution.
• You are collaborative and lead team members by example and practice.
• You possess excellent time management skills and the ability to exercise a significant degree of discretion and independent judgment, as the position has the autonomy to make decisions based on organizational goals and philosophies.
• Experience as a Paramedic in the EMS environment considered an asset.

Other

Regular business hours required, but some irregular hours can be expected. Travel within the Regions is required.

Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) Operations division and the Department of Health and Wellness.
