Acadia is looking for a Development Assistant in the Office of Advancement.

As the successful candidate, your ability to work both independently and as part of a team, will serve you well as you provide administrative support to the Development team, and specifically to the Executive Director, Philanthropy.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to requests for information from people at all levels - donors/prospects, alumni, provincial government, students, faculty, staff and senior administrators, and foundation and corporate directors.
  • Updating databases, conducting basic research, coordinating meetings and travel schedules, preparing expense claims, and various correspondence. 
  • Participating in activities outside normal business hours for special functions such as reunions and banquets.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience delivering a high level of client service and demonstrated ability to think clearly, resolve issues and maintaining privacy and confidentiality. 

  • Completion of post-secondary education in either business administration or communications, combined with related work experience is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and work to a high level of accuracy

  • Flexibility to regularly changing priorities is necessary.

  • Ability to multi-task and complete high priority assignments at a rapid pace and sometimes manage difficult and stressful situations

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Some experience with database management is necessary; familiarity with Ellucian's Colleague Advancement database would also be an asset.

THE REWARDS: Acadia offers a comprehensive benefit package in addition to a starting salary of $35,494 per annum (SEIU Administrative Assistant 2). Salary increases to $39,560 following successful completion of 6-month probation period.
