The Department of Finance, Information Systems, and Management Science at the Sobey School of Business of Saint Mary's University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Management Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated starting date is July 1, 2023 The review of applications will begin on October 24, 2022, and continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold an earned Ph.D. (or demonstrate that they are all-but-dissertation (ABD) with a final defense date scheduled) in Operations Management, Management Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related area.

Also, the successful candidate must demonstrate:

  • strong emerging scholarly research agenda at the intersection of key functional Management Science areas, Data Analytics, and/or Business Analytics. Specific applications considered include supply chain management, transportation and logistics, health systems, retail management, service management, and sustainability management;
  • ability and willingness to teach in at least two of the core subject areas offered by the Management Science Group in the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs (Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management Science, and Operations Management);
  • openness to innovation in pedagogical approaches (active learning, problem-based learning, case method, use of technology, blended learning, flipped classroom, …);
  • strong communication skills and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds;
  • ability to build research and education connections with other areas (disciplines, programs, departments) of the Sobey School of Business and Saint Mary's University. Experience working and applying management science or data analytics tools in the private or public sectors is an asset.
