Positions may be located at any NSCC campus/location or online. You will be able to select your geographical preferences in the application.

This is a call for interest in future casual Faculty opportunities only. If you see an NSCC opportunity posted, you will need to apply to each posting for which you would like to be considered. We encourage you to check our postings on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make sure a position that you are interested in doesn't slip by without you seeing it.

What you will be doing…

With a workforce of approximately 2,000 employees, NSCC at times hires casual employees to help out during busy times or cover employees who have to be away from work. With 13 campuses, a vibrant eCampus, 5 academic schools and a number of departments and corporate functions, NSCC offers plenty of opportunities for casual assignments. Many casual assignments are unforeseen, require a quick hiring process and as such, may not be advertised.

If you are interested in being considered for future Faculty casual assignments with NSCC, you can let us know by uploading your resume now and answering a few questions about the School and program you are interested and qualified to teach in and the geographical location(s) that work for you.

Faculty positions require credentials relevant to the subject matter, as well as five years' experience in the field. Please note that some of our Access programs do require Faculty to hold a B.Ed and Red Seal Trades require Red Seal Endorsement. To register for the casual pool, click on the Apply Now button. First time users will be asked to set up an account with a username and password. There are three parts to your registration:

  1. Your Profile. You are not required to complete the profile to register for the casual pool. However, if you choose to, you can import your resume or your LinkedIn profile to help populate your profile (click Import Options, top right) or you can complete the profile manually. One thing to note if you are using a resume or LinkedIn; they may not import synchronously with the profile and you may still need to make some manual adjustments.
  2. Your Resume. Towards the bottom of the Application tab, you will see a place to attach your resume. Although not required, if you wish to attach a cover letter, you will find that directly above where you attach your resume.
  3. Questions. Next to the Application tab, you will see a Questions tab. We will need you to complete these questions as they will tell us what types of positions and what geographical locations you are interested in pursuing.

You will receive acknowledgement of your application however will only be contacted further if a Casual Faculty opportunity arises that meets your qualifications and the criteria you selected.
