Acadia Director of Athletics: Deep Tradition, Exciting Future

Acadia Athletics has a tradition of excellence that includes 53 regional and ten national championships during the past 50 years. This commitment to performance, both inside and outside the classroom, positions Acadia Athletics for an exciting and rewarding future.

To help Acadia continue to build upon this legacy of achievement, the University is seeking an exceptional, professional leader to become its next Director of Athletics.

A driven individual with a demonstrated ability to align athletics with overall institutional priorities the successful candidate will bring a strong sense of purpose, energy, administrative competence and integrity to its athletics program. The right leader will be highly visible with students, coaching and support staff, alumni, and in the community and will have a strong ability to connect with Acadia faculty and senior administration. The Director will work closely with internal and external supporters of athletics and will have a strong commitment to the University's priorities of academic integrity, alumni engagement, and community connection. The Director will ensure that the Athletics department is fiscally responsible.

Candidates will have demonstrated administrative and financial management experience with preference to those with a master's degree. An understanding of, and appreciation for, the value of competitive athletics is essential and previous coaching experience is an asset. The ideal candidate will be familiar with regional and national sports bodies and will use this knowledge to ensure that Acadia's programs are competitive and compliant with University, regional and national policies and regulations.

The successful candidate will understand the basic principles of effective fundraising and have demonstrated volunteer leadership.
