As Registrar, they are responsible for maintaining and advising about academic regulations, policies, and procedures to all stakeholders. The incumbent organizes, directs, and controls the retention and maintenance of students' academic records towards the fulfillment of academic requirements up to and including the awarding of degrees and diplomas. The Registrar is responsible for overseeing and promoting the continuous development of the Student Information System, ensuring the integrity and protection of student academic records.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all operations in the admissions and transfer credit processes, including prior learning credit process (evaluation of transcripts, posting of credit, processing, and building of transfer credit rules in enterprise database).
  • Oversees all operations in the degree and course registration process (record creation, course schedule building, classroom assignment, grade processing, transcript issuance, and student enrollment verification).
  • Responsible for the development of the Academic Calendar and updating of the Registrar's Office web site.
  • Responsible for beginning of term processing in Colleague (administrative information software used for building of terms and sessions, term activating students, and assigning student appointments).
  • Responsible for end of term processing in Colleague (repeat/replace processing, academic action processes, communication with students related to academic actions, and Dean's List processing).
  • Responsible for enrollment and degree reporting, including regular reporting on student information related to registration and status.
  • Compiles enrollment statistics for both internal purposes and for use by government agencies. With the requirement for clear, comprehensive and regular reporting to provost and senior admin, with strong trend analysis.
  • Counsels students concerning progress towards meeting degree requirements and other matters related to their registration for courses.
  • Directs the activities of staff; determines major personnel decisions including staffing needs, such as hiring and firing; supervising the selection, training and evaluation of staff.

What you'll need

Qualifications

A graduate degree in Education Administration, Business Administration, Information Management or related field and a minimum of five years' experience working in a position with the same or equivalent authority and three to five years additional experience working in a post-secondary institution. Experience in data/information analysis and decision making. The successful applicant will demonstrate a deep and abiding commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all its forms; exercises sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions; and, has experience managing multiple, competing, and frequently changing priorities.
