Applications are invited for one 8-month, full-time sessional appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting September 1st, 2020. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Psychology or be near completion of the degree. We seek individuals who can contribute to teaching in areas such as Forensic and/or Clinical Psychology. Successful candidates are expected to teach three courses per semester. Candidates should present evidence, commensurate with experience, of their teaching ability, a letter outlining the courses they are interested in teaching (course descriptions are available here: https://smu.ca/academics/psychology-courses.html), and evidence of their scholarly productivity. As well as meeting their teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other department colleagues, and contribute to the Department's programs.

The successful applicant will join a 22-member Department, which includes one Canada Research Chair. The Department has an applied focus with major and honours curriculum (B.Sc. and B.A.), a M.Sc. in Applied Psychology (Industrial/Organizational Psychology stream and Forensic Psychology stream), a Ph.D. program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and a certificate program in Human Resource Management. Department members also participate in the CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and in the Science Faculty's M.Sc. in Applied Science program.
