The Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated starting date is July 1, 2020. The competition will remain open until the position is filled.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD or ABD with research focus/specialization in the following area of Finance:

  • Derivatives and Risk Management - Candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to conduct high-quality research in this area and must have specific training in Derivatives with focus on Risk Management. The candidate will be expected to teach courses in this area at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to integrate technology in teaching and use blended approaches to learning.

Candidates should have potential to add value to one or more of the graduate programs offered by the Sobey School of Business, namely (a) the MBA, (b) the Executive MBA, (c) the Master of Finance, (d) the Master of Technology Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and PhD in Finance. In addition, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to teach finance course(s) in our undergraduate degree program at Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai (BNUZ), China.

Applicants should be motivated to build research and education connections with other areas (disciplines, programs, departments) of the Sobey School of Business and of Saint Mary's University.

Saint Mary's, a public university with over 7,000 students, offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University offers a balanced research/teaching environment for faculty. It has the largest business program in the Atlantic Provinces with over 3,000 students and offers AACSB-accredited degrees at the undergraduate, master's and PhD levels. The Sobey School is located in a modern facility, providing classrooms with state-of-the-art technology.
