The International Development Studies Program at Saint Mary's University invites applications for an eight-month position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin September 1, 2019. The successful applicant will teach five one-semester courses (equivalent to a 3/2 or 2/3 load).

Responsibilities

The successful applicant should be able to teach third-year level contemporary issues in development; an undergraduate methods class; a regional specialization course preferably on Latin America, and two other special topics courses (preferably on labour and development and migration and development respectively).

Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants specializing in critical and social justice approaches to development and the political economy of development. Applicants should hold a PhD (or be ABD and close to completion of the PhD), with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.

The International Development Studies Program offers degree Programs at the undergraduate, Master's, and PhD levels, making it the largest interdisciplinary Program at Saint Mary's University.
