The Department of Chemistry at Saint Mary's University invites applications for two eight month contractually limited term appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence September 1, 2019.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate classroom and laboratory instruction. The successful candidates are anticipated to instruct in a combination of the following lectures and/or laboratories (depending on background experience): General Chemistry I and II, Inorganic Chemistry I and II, Organometallics, Biochemistry, Polymers, and Organic Chemistry. The successful candidates have the opportunity to play an active role in the administrative life of the Department of Chemistry, the Faculty of Science, and the University in general.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry and will normally have postdoctoral or other work experience. Applicants with a background in the areas of Inorganic, Organic, and/or Materials Chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply. The incumbent persons will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and have a record of research contribution.
