The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to research and teaching excellence and strong interest and expertise in derivatives markets and instruments, and risk management. The ability to build research and education connections with other areas (disciplines, programs, departments) within the Sobey School of Business and Saint Mary's University would be an asset. Ideally, candidates will possess a Ph.D. in finance; however, candidates who are ABD will also be considered.

Candidates should possess strong teaching skills and an ability to teach undergraduate students in the following areas: Financial Derivatives, Financial Modelling, Risk Management, and FinTech. There will also be an opportunity for the successful candidate to teach in our graduate programs: the MBA, the Executive MBA, and the Master of Finance programs. In addition, the selected candidate will have an opportunity to teach finance course(s) in our joint undergraduate degree program at Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai (BNUZ), China.

Saint Mary's University is a public University with over 7,200 students, offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Sobey School of Business, at Saint Mary's University is a balanced research/teaching institution. It has the largest business program in the Atlantic Provinces, with over 3,300 students and offers AACSB accredited degrees at the undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. levels. The Department of Finance, Information Systems and Management Science consists of 26 full-time faculty members.
